São João da Talha is an ancient Portuguese parish in the municipality of Loures, with an area of 6.43 km² and 17,252 inhabitants (2011).
Population density: 2,683 inhabitants/km².
Since 2013, it is part of the new União das Freguesias de Santa Iria de Azoia, São João da Talha e Bobadela.
Since 2015 it has been a sought-after destination for French citizens to buy a house, by virtue of the Portuguese tax law.
Located in the eastern half of the county, São João da Talha borders Bobadela, to the south, Unhos, to the west, São Julião do Tojal, Santa Iria de Azoia, (in Loures), and Vialonga, (in the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira), to the north, and also the Tagus River, to the east.
It included the village of São João da Talha, as well as the Vale Figueira nucleus and several neighbourhoods.
