Armamar is a Portuguese town in the extinct province of Trás os Montes and Alto Douro in the District of Viseu, North Region and sub-region of Douro.
It is the seat of the municipality of Armamar, subdivided into 14 parishes.
The municipality is bordered to the north by the Douro River, to the east by Tabuaço, to the southeast by Moimenta da Beira, to the southwest by Tarouca and to the west by Lamego.
It was a county in 1639.
Armamar is the capital of the Apple of the Mountain.
In the parish, in economic terms, the service sector is important, as well as agriculture, characterized by the production of table and fortified wines and apples. The secondary sector is also represented by meat processing units installed in Travanca, some industrialised and others of a more family-run nature.
